Costa del Sol

A paradise of sunny skies at least 320 days out of the year, Spain’s Costa del Sol (The Sun Coast) definitely deserves its claim to fame.  For about 100 miles of beautiful coastline, you can gaze at an azure Mediterranean Sea with a matching azure sky, often draped with billowing white clouds.

One of the most attractive aspects of traveling like a local along the Costa del Sol is that, when adventuring, you have the gift of time to experience a vast variety of beach sporting activities, outdoor sculptures, famous artwork, eclectic jewelry, laidback ambiances, and colorful local festivals.

From a coastal home base like Marbella, Malaga, or Estepona, you can lazily wind your way while hugging the curvy coastline, hopping on and off idyllic beach spots like the luxury resort, Puerto Banus with its famous jetsetter marina.

There’s also plenty of off-beach, hinterland discovery opportunities in the nearby Sierra Blanca Mountains. With hilltop-perched Moorish white towns (pueblos blancos) and other traditional mountain towns tucked in Andalusia’s countryside, it’s easy and fun to day-trip beyond the beaches.
